The Trivento Bodegas y Vinedos have vineyards thoughout Argentina, using the high quality, fertile soils and optimum temperatures to produce a range of wines all year long.
This is a full bodied, very deep flavoured Syrah. As a big fan of Rioja I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this bottle of Golden Reserve Syrah – the smell was so like that of the deep, fruity Spanish wine that I double checked what I had opened! The smell really does not do justice to the wonderfully rich, dark flavours of the fruity berries, and the spicy after taste is one to savour.
I opened this wine to accompany a goat’s cheese tart, ever sceptical that even the most full bodied wines can be drowned out by the sharp acidity of the cheese. It fared well! The downside to this Syrah, as I find with most, is that the flavours mellow considerably if left to stand for too long.
